A man described as a colorful figure in Baltimore County politics is gone.
Friends and family are remembering Louis DePazzo Senior, who died over the weekend at a hospice following a bout with cancer.
DePazzo was 77.
DePazzo served for several terms in the House of Delegates and one term on the Baltimore County Council in the 1990s.
He rose from humble beginnings, having been placed in an orphanage by his family who feared they could not care for him or siblings during the Great Depression years.
DePazzo is survived by his wife and two children, a son and a daughter, plus 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, The Sun reported.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
