The Lodge regrets to announce the passing of Brother Spike McElfish

Shawn “Spike” McElfish, age 54, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025. He was born in Baltimore to Andrea M. McElfish and the late William O. McElfish. Spike is the beloved husband of Michelle McElfish; cherished father of Nicholas McElfish and his wife Sallie, Patrick McElfish and his wife Cassie, and Jacob McElfish and his fiancé Julia; loving grandfather of Harper McElfish, Tatum McElfish, Emerson McElfish, and the late Aubrey McElfish; also survived by many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Scott McElfish.

Baseball was a huge part of Spike’s life, from pitching in the Minor Leagues to coaching High School Baseball for 20 plus years. Spike also served as a police officer with the Baltimore County Police Department for 30 Years.

He will be deeply missed. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 30th, 2025, at 2pm at Superior Catering located at 1010 Oldham St. Baltimore, MD 21224.
