The Lodge regrets to announce the passing of Donna Prugh, Step-Mother of Brother Chris Prugh.

Donna D. Prugh passed away at age 71 on Wednesday, June 4th.

She was born September 10, 1953 in Baltimore, MD. Donna graduated from Western High School in 1971 and started working at Sears Roebuck and Co. on W. 41st Street shortly after where she met Ray and some of her very best friends.

Donna and Ray married in 1976. She became a stepmother to Kim and Chris, and together she and Ray had two daughters, Amber and Ashley.

They lived in Hampden for 21 years before moving to Parkville, where Donna pursued her dream of becoming a dental assistant for a brief time and then eventually finishing her career at BGE.

She and Ray moved to Essex to live behind their daughter Ashley, her husband Jesse, and their 4 grandchildren. She spent her days being the best mom and “Mom-Mom” she could be until her final moments.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Smith Jr; her mother, Gaye Smith; her sister, Debbie Smith; and her brothers, Ernie Smith, Jimmy Gilbert, and Aaron Weetall. She will be missed as a loving wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, aunt and friend.

She is survived by her husband, Ray; children: Kim Baker (John), Chris Prugh (Kary), Amber Prugh (Dylan), and Ashley Goles (Jesse); her grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Jenna, Lindsay, Hannah, Corbin, Karis, Cullen, and Porter; and her nieces and nephews: Ernie, Matt, Lindsay, Dean, Madeline, Julianna, Brayden, Jackson, Ryan, and Beckett.

Friends may call at the family owned Bruzdzinski Funeral Home P.A., 1407 Old Eastern Avenue, Essex, Maryland 21221, on Monday June 9, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held 12 noon on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at the Bruzdzinski Funeral Home P.A.. Interment to follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

The Lodge extends it deepest sympathies to the Prugh family.
