The Lodge regrets to announce the passing of Brother Kenneth Snyder.

Kenneth William Snyder, age of 78 of Petersburg, West Virgina passed away on Friday September 12th, 2025, in Martinsburg, WV.  

Ken was born on January 27th, 1947, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the son of the late Kenneth Eugene Snyder and Alice Dorothy (Rosier) Snyder.  

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Snyder and Thomas Snyder.  

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Janice (Thomas) Snyder, married 35 years. His two sons, James (JP) and his wife Theresa Snyder and Michael and his wife Colleen, all of Manchester, MD. Ken had 4 step – children. He was a proud “Pop” of eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Robert (Bob) Snyder of Hereford, MD and his sister Saundra Kincaid and her husband Donald and several nieces and nephews.  

Ken was a 1965 graduate of Hereford High School. He served in the Baltimore County Police Department as a cadet, patrolman and Detective in the Burglary department for 21 years (1965-1986). He continued servicing his community with the Potomac Valley Transit for Petersburg and the surrounding area.  

He was a Confederate historical re-enactor for 21 years. He proudly served in the 22nd North Carolina regiment as the Colonel.  

He never met a stranger, he loved people, his family and his friends.  

In honor of Ken’s wishes, his family will receive family and friends on Wednesday 09/17 from 4pm -7pm at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. 

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday 10/05 at Greenmount Station in Hampstead, MD. Family welcomes you to join us between 12pm – 4pm to share a memory and laugh.
