Mother of Brother Nathan Lyles, Precinct 8-Parkville.
Hope Mariah Lyles, born on March 15, 1950, in Roxboro, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Johnnie Williams Sr. and Annie Williams. At a young age, Hope relocated to Baltimore, Maryland, where she received her education through the Baltimore City Public Schools system.
On July 3, 1972, Hope was united in marriage to Richard Lyles Sr. Together, they built a loving and supportive home. She was a proud wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother, known for her unconditional love, unwavering strength, and kindness to all who knew her. A dedicated and hardworking woman, she spent over 25 years working for the federal government, retiring with distinction.
Her love for children led her to continue working as a teacher’s assistant after retirement. Hope was a faithful member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she worshiped devotedly until her health no longer allowed her to attend. She was also an active participant in the Super 60’s Club, cherishing the fellowship and group outings. Hope found joy in getting her hair done by her great niece Tonya Davis, shopping, laughter, gospel music, praising God, and spending cherished time with her grandchildren.
The Lodge extends its deepest sympathies to the Lyles family.
