Brother David Dodson
On October 1, 2023, David Lee Dodson, 74, of Freeland, Maryland, passed away; devoted husband of 46 years to Mary Dodson (nee Wright); cherished father of Christy and Rebecca Dodson; beloved grandfather of Tristan, Sebastian, Kylee, and Savanah; and many loving family and friends. David was predeceased by his parents Ethel “Marie” Petitt and Clinton David Dodson.
David was a well-respected Baltimore County Police Officer, serving the Cockeysville Precinct his entire career from September 1974 to January 2002. Officer Dodson also protected his country with service in the Army and Vietnam. Having apprenticed with his father, David knew a great deal about carpentry and mechanics. He had a knack for knowing something about everything and will be most remembered for his loving and jovial personality.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate David’s life at the Evans Life Celebration Home – Monkton, 16924 York Road, where a visitation will be held Friday, October 13, 2023, from 6-9PM. A funeral service will be held at Gunpowder Baptist Church – 20074 Middletown Rd, Freeland, MD 21053, on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 1PM. Interment at Middletown Road Cemetery – Middletown Rd & Freeland Rd to follow.
