Father of Brother Brian Duty and Cousin of Brother William “Bill” Duty

Leslie James “Dick” Duty III, 77, of Pikesville, Maryland passed away on January 7, 2024. Born November 17, 1946 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Leslie Jr. and Rita (Calzone) Duty. Loving husband of 56 years to Janice M. Duty.

In his earlier years, Dick enjoyed being on his school’s swim team. He was a life member of VFW Post 521 and was also an active member of the Christian Service Brigade and Boy Scouts of America. Dick’s occupation was a public seating installer and he worked alongside his father Dick Jr. and son Stephen in the family seating business. Dick proudly served his country in the U.S. Airforce during the Vietnam conflict. He loved photography, marksmanship, and camping. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He worked with college and career groups at church and drove the bus for church groups. Dick will be remembered for having a very generous spirit, and could often be found passing out candy to others.

Surviving are his daughter, Kimberly A. Griffin and husband, Matthew Griffin and Grandson Joshua Griffin; son Brian James Duty and wife Brea Duty and Grandsons Parker and Micah Duty and Granddaughter Jenna Duty, son, Stephen A. Duty and fiancé, Carey and grandson, Dustin Miller.

Visitations will be held Monday, January 15, 2024, from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Rd. Reisterstown, Maryland, 21136. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 10 AM at Eline Funeral Home-Reisterstown, MD. Interment will be in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery on January 31, 2024 at 10 AM.
