Patrick Roddy, a longtime lobbyist and Baltimore County Executive Kathy Klausmeier’s director of government affairs, has re-retired.
Roddy’s last day was Friday, county spokesperson Erica Palmisano said. Klausmeier had appointed him to his role shortly after she took office in January.
Before working as the county’s director of government affairs, Roddy worked for Rifkin Weiner Livingston as part of its government relations division. He retired from the firm in April 2021 after spending nearly two decades there.
Before that, Roddy spent more than 20 years in Baltimore County as a director of legislative affairs liaison and assistant county attorney. He was also part of former Gov. William Donald Schaefer’s legislative staff.
Roddy’s wife, Valerie Roddy, also works in Baltimore County government — she was tapped to serve in Klausmeier’s administration as deputy chief of staff.
Patrick Roddy could not be reached for comment.
Pamela Kasemeyer started Monday as the new director of the government affairs office, Palmisano said. An attorney and lobbyist, she previously worked for the Annapolis-based firm Schwartz, Metz, Wise and Kauffman.
